About Hollywood Lust for Power
Background
Emanating from a successful lecture series, Hollywood - Lust for Power tells the tale of Hollywood's birth, the township's growth and the reason Tinsel Town became the centre of the American film industry.
There have been numerous programmes made on the history of Hollywood but none that have told the story through the eyes of the studios' creators - the would-be and ultimately extremely successful, movie moguls. There have been profiles of Samuel Goldwyn and Louis B. Mayer but not about the studio bosses per se as a lineated story.
Maverick Migrants
Given that all the studio heads were eastern Eastern European migrants, born just a few hundred miles from each other who came to America to seek their fortunes - apart from creating one of the most influential businesses in the world, the intriguing thing about the story was the rivalry that existed between these men yet how close they were.
